Director of Memberships 

The CreativeHub 1352 is looking for a Director of Memberships to join our Board of Directors and manage the membership affairs of the organization. 

Who We Are
CreativeHub 1352 (the Hub) is a non-profit organization, committed to working with the community in the adaptive reuse and programming of the Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) in the Lakeview area of Mississauga. To this end the Hub works with the community and various partners in championing the development of collaborative creative programming across the arts, heritage, environment and technology.

CreativeHub 1352 works closely with the City of Mississauga (the owner of the SAIB) as a community programming partner. The Hub has plans for an exciting mix of programs, events and activities for the building in 2020/21.  In anticipation of a busy year ahead, we are strengthening our volunteer board of directors. If you enjoy working on a board that is in transition, going from a working board to a board with a primary oversight responsibility, this opportunity could be for you.

Role of the Director of Memberships:
The CreativeHub 1352 Director of Memberships is an executive and voting member of the Board of Directors and appointed in a manner consistent with the bylaws of the organization. The Director of Memberships works collaboratively with the Chair (s), the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, volunteers and staff to support the Board in achieving its governance and membership responsibilities. 


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Create and implement a membership engagement and development strategy and plan;

  • Develop membership solutions that engage and increase participation.

  • Use measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives. 

  • Provide member support answering questions and manage all online forums.

  • Directs and implements strategies to achieve membership and strategic plan goals and objectives.

  • Directs the development, coordination, and management of membership and unit projects, programs and activities and provides leadership and direction for membership growth.

  • Develops data-driven strategies to grow membership.

  • Manage/facilitate social media communication for member engagement; in collaboration with the Director of Communications, participate in creating, managing and growing CEC’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties.

  • Manages membership drive activities; attends events and programs

  • Coordinates membership appreciation and communication initiatives; works in collaboration with the Director of Volunteer Services.

  • Works in coordination with the Director of Marketing and Communications to launch targeted marketing campaigns (social/email/web/events) that would support membership growth.



  • A commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic directions 

  • Demonstrated competence in planning, developing, and implementing membership support

  • Engagement and development strategies and plans; successful track record in customer service, business development, association membership, social media, online community management, and developing relationships with existing and prospective members. 

  • An appreciation of the kind and level of financial information needed by a non-profit Corporation to support decision making and ability to commit the time required to fulfill the responsibilities described

  • Strong public relations and communication skills.
