About the Role

The Fundraising Specialist reports directly to the Executive Director with a dotted line to the Director, Fund Development and works collaboratively with the Board Chair & Directors, volunteers and staff to support the Creative Hub in attaining its fundraising targets.

The Fundraising Specialist will work closely and collaboratively in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with various organizations, stakeholders and volunteers on initiatives that support achieving fundraising goals. The Fundraising Specialist may also work in collaboration with the City of Mississauga, owner of the Small Arms Inspection Building and immediate site.

Responsibilities

  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance 

  • Developing tailored fundraising initiatives that support strategic initiatives 

  • Evaluating a prospective donor’s giving capacity and readiness to give 

  • Developing and implementing donor engagement plans that support strategic objectives 

  • Implementing components of fundraising campaigns 

  • Reviewing online and print sources to identify donor prospects 

  • Generating reports 

  • Directing the work of volunteers in defined activities

  • Managing the database ensuring donor and prospect records are maintained, updated and accurate.

  • Leading and implementing stewardship of prospects and donors 

  • Informs the communication strategy to engage donors and prospects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. 

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent experience in a fundraising role of which as least two years have been focused on leadership annual giving (LAG) with a proven track record of success. 

  • Demonstrated successful experience with leadership annual giving (LAG)/ annual giving (gifts from $1,000 to $25,000). 

  • Developing tailored fundraising initiatives that support strategic initiatives, including stewardship activities. 

  • Demonstrated successful track-record in building and strengthening relationships with key donor contacts. 

  • Experience working with the selected donor database or a similar database management system. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors as well as build and maintain long-term relationships; exceptional inter-personal skills; excellent presentation skills. 

  • Strong computer skills with experience in Donor Perfect, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), email and Internet. 

  • A proven high level of integrity, donor confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information, tasks, and relationships. 

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong problem solving skills. 

  • Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines; and exercise accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Understanding of non-profits and commitment to the Hub’s mission and strategic directions;

  • Experience with community engagement, collaborative practices and partnering;

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, volunteers and Board team;

  • Organizational and project planning skills with sound budget and report writing skills.

The CreativeHub 1352 is looking for a Fundraising Specialist to join our organization and manage the fundraising opportunities for the organization.

CreativeHub 1352 (the Hub) is a non-profit organization, charitable organization, committed to working with the community in the adaptive reuse and programming of the Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) serving Mississauga residents and visitors from the greater Toronto area and beyond. visitors. To this end the Hub works with the community and various partners in championing the development of collaborative creative programming across the arts, heritage, environment and technology.

CreativeHub 1352 works closely with the City of Mississauga (the owner of the SAIB) as a community programming partner. The Hub offers an exciting mix of programs, signature events and activities in the historically building and site building. In anticipation of a new strategic plan and future growth, we are strengthening our fund development efforts.
