Julie Pasila is a photographer & visual artist from Toronto, Canada. She uses a variety of photographic processes to explore the natural world, drawing on the landscape, seasonal shifts, weather and light as recurring subjects.
My focus for In Situ is to draw a connection between Lake Ontario and the Small Arms Inspection Building. In densely populated areas, the lake is easily overlooked – often as a result of poor urban planning, which frequently limits easy access to its shores. But the lake is a presence that has an impact on our daily lives: it effects our climate, our industry and our flora and fauna, shaping all the places that surround it.
