About the Role
The Mississauga Festival of Trees (December 5–14, 2025) transforms the Small Arms Inspection Building into a winter wonderland of art, food, light, and community celebration. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of a signature seasonal festival that engages artists, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and the broader community.
Responsibilities
The Event Manager will:
Lead the development and implementation of all Festival event plans and programs, ensuring alignment with CreativeHub 1352’s mission and goals.
Recruit, schedule, and manage the Festival Event Committee and specialized teams.
Build and strengthen relationships with festival partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
Work with staff and committees to execute and negotiate contracts.
Develop and manage event budgets and invoices, optimizing resources when needed.
Assist the Executive Director or designate with grant activities and reporting.
Serve as the primary contact for stakeholders and on-site event coordination.
Oversee set-up and strike of all festival programs and events.
Manage on-site staff, volunteers, and event operations.
Coordinate with suppliers for scheduling and deliveries.
Lead planning meetings, manage video calls, and ensure alignment across teams.
Support the Director of Volunteer Initiatives in volunteer coordination and communications.
Prepare event recaps, reporting, and evaluation documentation.
Perform other duties as required.
Reporting & Supervision
Reports to: Executive Director (or designate)
Supervises: Festival Market Manager(s), Art Installation Coordinator, Event Coordinator(s), Marketing Manager, Event Committees, volunteers, and other event staff.
Requirements
Experience in event and/or festival management, preferably in arts, culture, or non-profit sectors.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise staff and volunteers.
Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and stakeholder relationships.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Flexible schedule with availability for evening and weekend work during festival season.
Working Conditions
The role requires a balance of independent work and collaboration with staff, board members, and committees. Work will take place both remotely (per CreativeHub’s Work from Home Policy) and on-site at the Small Arms Inspection Building. Evening and weekend availability is required to support festival programs.
Hours
35 hours per week, October 3 – December 19, 2025 (385 hours total)
Salary
$28.00–$32.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
