About the Role

The Mississauga Festival of Trees (December 5–14, 2025) transforms the Small Arms Inspection Building into a festive celebration of art, food, light, and community. The Marketing & Communications Manager will lead audience engagement and communications efforts, ensuring festival programs reach and inspire broad audiences while strengthening CreativeHub 1352’s visibility in the community.

Responsibilities

The Marketing & Communications Manager will:


  • Develop and implement a marketing plan with clear objectives that deliver against the Festival’s audience development goals.

  • Manage the Festival marketing budget in coordination with the Event Manager, maximizing its impact.

  • Lead planning and execution of the VIP Opening Reception, including invitations, RSVPs, and on-site coordination.

  • Compile, proof, and edit content for print, digital, and website platforms (Wix).

  • Manage CreativeHub 1352’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), developing content and campaigns to promote the Festival and associated events.

  • Generate content and compile the CreativeHub 1352 newsletter (Constant Contact), reporting data and feedback on campaigns.

  • Coordinate design, printing, delivery, and distribution of marketing materials.

  • Collaborate with artists, partners, and co-presenters to gather promotional content.

  • Recruit, train, and delegate tasks to marketing volunteers.

  • Release timely content during the Festival week to drive audience attendance and digital engagement.

  • Manage audience feedback collection and reporting, including surveys and research data.

  • Perform other duties as required.


Reporting & Supervision

  • Reports to: Event Manager (or designate) and Marketing Committee

  • Supervises: Marketing volunteers


Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or related fields—preferably in arts, culture, or non-profit organizations.

  • Strong skills in content creation, copywriting, and social media management.

  • Experience with email marketing tools (Constant Contact or equivalent) and web platforms (Wix or similar).

  • Ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Flexible schedule with availability for evening and weekend work during the Festival.


Working Conditions

The position requires a balance of independent and collaborative work with staff, board members, committees, and volunteers. Work will take place both remotely (per CreativeHub’s Work from Home Policy) and on-site at the Small Arms Inspection Building. Evening and weekend availability is required during the Festival.

Hours

30 hours per week, October 3 – December 19, 2025 (330 hours total)

Salary

$24.00–$28.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
