About the Role
The Director of Volunteer Development is a voting member of the Board of Directors and will be appointed in a manner consistent with the bylaws of the organization. The Director will attend monthly meetings of the Board (in-person and online). Most importantly, the Director of Volunteer Development will ensure that all needs for volunteer support are identified and met for all CreativeHub 1352 programs and events.
All Directors serve 2 year terms, with the possibility of renewal, up to six years total on the Board of CreativeHub 1352.
Responsibilities
Create and implement a volunteer engagement and development strategy and plan.
Using the Better Impact online platform, establish volunteer roles, post shifts, invite volunteers for our roster to register for shifts, monitor that shifts are being filled, and inform staff of volunteers who will be filling the roles.
Identify volunteers who can play leadership roles and steward them into those roles
Use Better Impact’s measurement tools to provide reports on metrics of volunteer engagement.
Provide volunteer support answering questions and manage all online forums.
Directs the development, coordination, and management of volunteer programs and activities and provides leadership and direction for volunteer growth.
Work with staff to facilitate social media communication for volunteer engagement
Manages volunteer activities; attends events and programs
Coordinates volunteer appreciation and communication initiatives.
Requirements
A commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic directions
Demonstrated competence in planning, developing, and implementing volunteer support.
Engagement and development strategies and plans; successful track record in customer service, business development, association membership, social media, online community management, and developing relationships with existing and prospective volunteers.
Strong public relations and communication skills.
A background in Human Resource management or volunteer management is preferred
Residence in Mississauga is preferred.

About CreativeHub 1352
CreativeHub 1352 is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing creative people together to strengthen arts, culture, and community in Mississauga. Through collaborations with local partners, we offer a diverse range of year-round programs in the arts, heritage, and environmental stewardship and education, engaging people from across the city and beyond.
Our journey began with the Lakeview Legacy Community Foundation, later known as the Small Arms Society, which led the successful effort in 2008 to save the historic Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) from demolition. Since 2018, CreativeHub 1352 has worked with the City of Mississauga to transform this landmark into a vibrant community hub. As the building’s lead tenant and key partner, we continue to expand our programming days each year, bringing our creative vision to life in this unique and historic space.
