About the event
African Contemporary Dance engages students/participants in a movement and rhythm dance class, as a form of physical education and social skill development that connects the importance of good health to the dynamic movement from diverse African cultures. The dance class incorporates diverse African movement and rhythm from West Africa and Southern Africa, with a contemporary approach focusing on strength, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory fitness, with the principles of kinesiology and health awareness. African Contemporary Dance emphasizes the importance of mental presence, concentration, awareness, and mental imagery, which creates a healthy individual and mental wellbeing
This class is 3 sessions.
Please wear clothing that is easy to move in. This class is beginner friendly.
Age Range: All ages, children to be accompanied by an adult
