Morphology 2026:
A Photographic Exhibition

Explore a New Landscape in Celebration of the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area

Over nine years, local photo artists documented the evolution of this site from a degraded section of the Mississauga shoreline into a thriving waterfront conservation area with a restored habitat. This culminating exhibition explores our evolving relationship with water and landscapes, and our shared stewardship in protecting the Great Lakes.

Morphology was inspired by the vision of late Councillor Jim Tovey, a passionate environmental advocate. Jim championed the revitalization of the Lakeview shoreline and believed that art could help people connect with nature, environmental science and Lake Ontario.

Morphology: A Decade in The Making - Panel
Thursday 21st May | 7:00 - 8:30 PM
CreativeHub 1352, Small Arms Inspection Building

Join us for an evening of conversation, creativity, and community as we explore the ideas and process behind the Credit Valley Conservation’s Morphology Project.

This special panel brings together Robert MacAskill, Gabriella Bank, John Dananhy in conversation with moderator Jesse DeJager from Credit Valley Conservation, to reflect on the photographic and video work created to document the transformation of the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area, the community behind the project, and the evolving relationship the panelists have with the site. Together, they will explore process, collaboration, and the role of storytelling in shaping how we see ourselves, place, and the wider cultural landscape.

Following the panel, we’ll host Robert MacAskill’s new short film, presented as part of our cultural program.

Schedule:
7:00-8:30 PM: Panel plus Q&A followed by a short film screening.

Location:

Small Arms Inspection Building
