About the event
This collage workshop is based on the tearing paper techniques used by Lee Krasner, the famous abstract expressionist painter. Participants will be given prompts and guided on intuitive composition creation. Texture, colour and layering are the main elements explored in this workshop. By tearing the paper, there is an element of chance to the creation of the art. Through an abstract approach, composition will be something the participants will I try to "arrive at" rather than plan. Collage art making is a space with no wrong answers and no hierarchy when it comes to making art. Participants will slowly build up their artwork over layers and layers of random choices or thoughtful placements unlocking their creative expression.
This workshop is suitable for all ages. It is young ones and seniors friendly as the instructor's approach does not require the use of scissors.
