About the event

CreativeHub Living Room Film Screenings are a monthly event presented by CreativeHub1352. The series invites the community to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment to experience a wide range of films and conversations. The aim of the series is to create a warm, community-centred space where people can gather, reflect, connect, and engage with stories that explore identity, belonging, creativity, culture, and lived experience.


For this first edition, the evening will incorporate three short films provided courtesy of the NFB.


  • My Knitting Circle (directed by Alexandra Knowles)

  • Boat People (directed by Thao Lam & Kjell Boersma)

  • King’s Court (directed by Serville Poblete). 


These films explore themes of home, migration, belonging, care, creativity, identity, and community. In My Knitting Circle, Alexandra Knowles explores belonging and community through the bonds created in a local knitting group in Whitehorse, Yukon.
