Workshop Description: This engaging art class introduces students to the world of gel plate printing, offering an experience in both process art and product art. Students will explore the unique qualities of gel plate printing, experimenting with textures and patterns to create multi-layered prints. A special feature will be the opportunity to create 'landscape' or 'seascape' prints. This lesson plan provides a fun and rewarding artistic experience for students of all skill levels.
Age Range: Youth 14+, Adults, Children 11+ accompanied by an adult
Instructor Bio: Daniela Easter is a certified art educator and professional artist. She is the designer and owner of Progressive Art for Progressive Kids, a visual arts program for children and teens which she ran since 2002 from the Beaux-Arts Brampton Gallery until the closure of the building in 2020. Since that time, her adaptation Progressive Art Services, has offered online and on-site learning for all ages in addition to her handmade art. For more than 20 years, she has provided arts enrichment classes for schools, community
organizations and afterschool programs across the GTA. This is her second year participating in Summer Arts Mississauga. Bilingual in Spanish and English, she has instructed online students from as far as Ecuador and Mexico. She is also a public speaker, arts facilitator, and exhibiting artist in art shows. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections in Canada, the United States, Venezuela, and Nigeria.
