About the event
Have you ever wondered what goes into making of a beautiful and complex quilt? In a fun and relaxed environment, following the process of hand-quilt making, we invite you to create your own one of a kind small-format textile artwork. We will explore the principles of colour theory and learn the art of quilt making using a variety of tools and techniques. During this workshop you will have the pleasure of completing one (1) beautiful piece of small-format (5” x 7”) textile artwork to cherish and display. You will also start a second complimentary piece that you will be able to complete at home for continued practice and benefits of working with your hands.
Much of the workshop will involve sewing by hand. However, a sewing machine is needed for some parts of the mini-quilt making process. Participants will take turns using the provided sewing machines to complete this step.
Join us for this playful creative journey and have your own “I MADE THIS!” moment.
