Introduction to Contemporary Dance

Explore contemporary dance in a welcoming and supportive environment with Colleen Snell. In this workshop we will start with a warm up before exploring principles of contemporary dance, including fall and recovery, and rebound. We will take a brief outdoor walk on the Arsenal grounds to witness the changing seasons before collaboratively creating a short contemporary dance piece incorporating what we saw.

This class is open to ages 16+ and all experience levels. This session aims to share contemporary dance with newcomers and experienced practitioners alike.

Please note: Bring comfortable shoes, clothes to move around in and a reusable water bottle. 

About the Artist: Colleen Snell is an educator, dramaturge, creative placemaker and sound designer - but she's most passionate about movement as a vehicle for human expression.
