About the event
In this single session relief printmaking workshop, participants will create 10 prints using soft lino blocks, artist-grade paper, and water-based ink on the theme of connection to summer or nature. This workshop does not require previous experience in art-making - the instructor will meet each participant where they are at. Participants will learn safe carving techniques, how to design an image for carving, how to ink up the soft-link and hand print their design.
All materials are included in the cost of the workshop.
Age Range: Adult, young adult and 14+
Instructor: Pardis Pahlavanlu
Pardis Pahlavanlu is an artist and illustrator living as a guest between Tkaronto (Toronto) and unceded Coast Salish territories (Vancouver). While her academic studies have revolved around systems of power in contemporary colonial states, her artistic work has centred on the healing that is necessary in these contexts.
