2 Session Workshop August 13 & 27 from 6:30p - 9:30p
In this introductory book‑making session, you’ll explore the expressive, hands‑on process of paper paste to create a book cover. You’ll learn how to prepare your paper, mix pigments, and apply paste to create richly layered, one‑of‑a‑kind decorative sheets. We’ll cover basic techniques for building colour and texture; however, the rest is up to you and your creativity. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a collection of custom papers ready to use in Part 2 or other creative work.
In this second session of bookmaking, you’ll learn how to bind your own book using the covers created in the previous session. For this introductory course we’ll cover how to create signatures, how to reinforce your covers and two beginner friendly binding techniques.
