About the event
This solar dyeing workshop will introduce participants to no-fuss natural dyeing. Solar dyeing is a dye technique that uses the sun to slowly heat and set dye materials. The workshop will be both hands on and instruction based. Participants will learn what colours to expect from natural dyeing materials and tips for ethical and non-disruptive foraging. Then as a group a dyeing setup will be created in a jar that participants will take home and see a slow release dye over 3-6 weeks.
Age Range: Adult and Young adult 14+
All materials are included in the cost of the workshop. Participants are welcome to bring their own additional washed 1-2L jars and lightweight wool or silk yarn to dye for up to 3 additional samples.
