The Ins and Outs of Mural Making

Call for Participants: The Ins & Outs of Mural Painting

 

CreativeHub 1352 is looking for eight artists to participate in creating a mural on a wooden pump house located at the Small Arms Inspection Building in Mississauga. Take your art to new heights and locations during our ‘Ins & Outs of Mural Painting’ program. 

 

From concept to completion, artists will get hands-on experience painting a mural, learn about site logistics and safety standards, as well as foundational drawing and painting techniques. Artists will also learn technical processes such as choosing the right materials and equipment, wall preparation, color mixing, image enlargement, and design transfer.

 

This program takes place over 5 sessions, with the first session being online and the remaining 4 sessions in person. 

 

No experience required. Prior experience creating visual art, including painting, drawing, and graffiti, is an asset.  

 

Program dates:

  • Wednesday, August 19 (Online): 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

  • Mon, August 24 (In-person): 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • Tues, August 25 (In-person): 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • Wed, August 26 (In-person): 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Thurs, August 27 (In-person): 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Small Arms Inspection Building, 1352 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5E 1E9

 

Equity and access:

This is a FREE program for emerging artists aged 18-29. CreativeHub 1352 also recognizes that emerging practices can occur at all ages and individuals starting their practices later in life or needing to take long breaks from their artistic practices, are still emerging practices, not being bound by duration of practice or age.
